TIPS

DID YOU KNOW...

Toe Nail Clipping is extremely important for your pet. Some dogs are very active and file their nails on their own. However, other dogs that spend more time indoors, or don't do very much running around need some help in keeping their toe nails short and trimmed. If this is your dog's case, be sure to have them clipped at least every six to eight weeks. Don't allow too much time to go by or the quick or vein will grow with the nail and by the time they get clipped, they can only be cut to the quick or your dog will bleed. If you hear your dog's nails when walking, they are too long!
Furballs can actually kill your cat. Do not take it lightly! Make sure your cat is given their remedy for internal hair accumulation on a regular basis.
Small high maintenance dogs (i.e. Lhasa's, Shih-Tzu's, Maltese, Poodles, etc..) need to have the hair inside their ears pulled. Hair inside the ear creates moisture and therefore, makes your dog prone to ear infections.
If you have a Cocker Spaniel or long eared dog, make sure his/her ears are cleaned on a regular basis (at least a few times a week). The weight of their ears prevents air to get inside the ear and creates ear infections. "Smell" your dog's ears and make sure they smell clean. Many times a bad smell of the dog comes from the ears.
Brushing your dog's teeth is actually very good for their gums. If you maintain a regular schedule for teeth cleaning, you will slow down the process of tarter building on your pet's teeth longer and they will have healthier gums and teeth as they get older.
